Do you Know Why do we have chromosomes because Every cell has a nucleus which is full of information coded in the form of a chemical called deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The DNA is organized into groups called genes. Every chromosome contains thousands of genes, each with enough information for the production of one protein.
This protein may have to small effect within the cell and on the appearance of the body, including skin, eyes and hair color. From the moment conception the genes issue instructions and every inherited characteristic comes to us via the coding of the genes within the chromosome.
The human Genome project, an international, scientific study , cracked the DNA code in 2007. We now understand more fully what makes every individual different, and apply this information in many ways from identifying archaeological remains to predicting reactions to drugs and disease.
