Why forests often referred to as the web of life because The foresst often referred to as the web of life because The trees in the forests collect and store water. They are like sponges that absorb the water in the soil through their roots, and slowly release it through their leaves.
The many types of plants found in the forest provide food for the animals that live there. The animals that eats these plants, in turn provide food for bigger species that inhabit the forest.
When these animals and plants die they decompose, and enrich the soil to provide food for the trees and plants of the forest.
Thus, a forest is a source of food and water and shelter, and this circle of life that exists in a forest is often referred to as “ The web of life.”
